The term “biosolids” refers to treated sludge, which is what is left over after treating domestic wastewater at a plant. Despite treatment, some chemicals remain in biosolids, but they can still be used in many regulated industries. Biosolids are often used to condition soil and fertilize both food and non-food agricultural products.
